Who is last Adam?

Eternal life, which all people want to have, is only given through the Bible. The Bible is the book which testifies about the Savior who gives us eternal life. So we should find out who the Savior is through the Bible. Who has brought us the Passover according to the prophecy? He is Christ Ahnsahnghong, the Second Coming Christ, who has appeared in this age according to all the prophecies of the Bible and established  World Mission Society Church of God and God the Mother for our salvation. Let us find out this reasons as follows. 

 

The Hebrew word ‘Adam’ means ‘man.’ God formed Adam from the dust of the ground and it was not until God put a spirit in Adam that he became a living being.

 

Genesis 2:7 The LORD God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.

1 Corinthians 15:45 Adam was created through this process and dwelled in the Garden of Eden along with Eve, who was made from his rib. Afterwards, Adam gave birth to many children including Cain and Abel until he died at the age of 930 years old as it is written in the Old Testament. This was the life of Adam. However, Adam is referred to as two men in the New Testament. So it is written: “The first man Adam became a living being”; the last Adam, a life-giving spirit.

Adam was created as only one man, but the Bible clearly says that there are the first man Adam and the last Adam. These two Adams have different traits. The first Adam became ‘a living being’ while the last Adam is ‘a life-giving spirit.’ The first man Adam is the one who appeared in the book of Genesis and became a living being when God created his body from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the spirit.

Then, who is the last Adam? We are able to know about the last Adam through the hint that he is ‘a life-giving spirit.’ That is, we can understand that the last Adam is the Savior who is to come to save mankind who are dying. Thus the Apostle Paul said as follows with regard to Adam:

Romans 5:14 Nevertheless, death reigned from the time of Adam to the time of Moses, even over those who did not sin by breaking a command, as did Adam, who was a pattern of the one to come.

Paul said that Adam was a pattern of the one to come. ‘The one to come’ in the Bible can also be found in the last page of the Bible.

Revelation 22:17 He who testifies to these things says, “Yes, I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.

‘The one to come’ is Jesus or the Second Coming Jesus. Therefore, Adam who is referred to as ‘the one to come’ in Romans means the Second Coming Jesus. The last Adam in 1 Corinthians Chapter 15 also indicates the Second Coming Jesus who is supposed to appear in the last days. How will the Second Coming Jesus, the last Adam who is to come as ‘a life-giving spirit,’ save mankind?

John 6:54 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.

This is how the Second Coming Jesus, the last Adam, gives life to mankind. Jesus said that He would raise up those who eat His flesh and drink His blood at the last day. How can we eat and drink Jesus flesh and blood?

Matthew 26:17-19 On the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Where do you want us to make preparations for you to eat the Passover?” He replied, “Go into the city to a certain man and tell him, ‘The Teacher says: My appointed time is near. I am going to celebrate the Passover with my disciples at your house.’ ” So the disciples did as Jesus had directed them and prepared the Passover.

Matthew 26:26-28 While they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my body.” Then he took the cup, gave thanks and offered it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.

Jesus allowed the Passover bread to be His flesh and the Passover wine as to be His blood. Therefore, the only way to eat and drink the flesh and blood of Jesus is to eat the Passover bread and wine. This is how the last Adam, ‘a life-giving spirit,’ grants life to mankind.
