To prevent MERS

In the TV, MERS virus is the most hot news these days in Korea.

Many people are concerned about increase number of confirmed patient by MERS and look so nervous.

The numbers of MERS patient is increasing continuously.

Health authorities and experts as well as  a newscasters  said the MERS outbreak unlikely to become pandemic as nightmare situation.

How do we prevent it from happening like disaster?
1) Medically
Health authorities should quarantine people infected with the virus and use protective equipment.
To prevent MERS, the CDC recommends everyday hygiene practices like hand-washing, covering coughs and sneezes, and avoiding personal contact with sick people.
2) Individual
privately we all should wear mask when we go out and wash our hands often.
3) Biblical
In the Bible, God say ” I’ll prevent you from any the disasters like MERS, when you keep the God’s commends.”
Let’s confirm biblical teachings in World Mission Society Church of God

BIBLE

Punishment for Disobedience

Leviticus chapter 26

14 “‘But if you will not listen to me and carry out all these commands, 15 and if you reject my decrees and abhor my laws and fail to carry out all my commands and so violate my covenant, 16 then I will do this to you: I will bring on you sudden terror, wasting diseases and fever that will destroy your sight and sap your strength. You will plant seed in vain, because your enemies will eat it.

Numbers chapter 16

46 Then Moses said to Aaron, “Take your censer and put incense in it, along with burning coals from the altar, and hurry to the assembly to make atonement for them. Wrath has come out from the Lord; the plague has started.” 47 So Aaron did as Moses said, and ran into the midst of the assembly. The plague had already started among the people, but Aaron offered the incense and made atonement for them. 48 He stood between the living and the dead, and the plague stopped.

In here, Moses  made atonement for them who committed crime to God.  So plague stopped. Like this God want us to come back to Him by repenting. Then, we can be protected from the plagues and disasters by God.

Psalms 91

nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,
nor the plague that destroys at midday.
A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.  1)

What is kind of Plague? I think that MERS is the one of the plagues.

Then, let’s know about MERS.

MERS?

Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) is an illness caused by a virus (more specifically, a coronavirus) called Middle East Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus (MERS-CoV). MERS affects the respiratory system (lungs and breathing tubes). Most MERS patients developed severe acute respiratory illness with symptoms of fever, cough and shortness of breath. About 3-4 out of every 10 patients reported with MERS have died.

Health officials first reported the disease in Saudi Arabia in September 2012. Through retrospective investigations, health officials later identified that the first known cases of MERS occurred in Jordan in April 2012. So far, all cases of MERS have been linked to countries in and near the Arabian Peninsula.

MERS-CoV has spread from ill people to others through close contact, such as caring for or living with an infected person. However, there is no evidence of sustained spreading in community settings.

MERS can affect anyone. MERS patients have ranged in age from younger than 1 to 99 years old.

CDC continues to closely monitor the MERS situation globally and work with partners to better understand the risks of this virus, including the source, how it spreads, and how infections might be prevented. CDC recognizes the potential for MERS-CoV to spread further and cause more cases globally and in the U.S. We have provided information for travelers and are working with health departments, hospitals, and other partners to prepare for this. 2)

How does MERS spread?

Concern about the virus is gripping many in South Korea, with schools shutting and the increased use of face masks and hand sanitizers.

The virus acts like a cold and attacks the respiratory system, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has said. But symptoms, which include fever and a cough, are severe and can lead to pneumonia and kidney failure.

MERS spreads from close contact with an ill person, such as living or caring for them.

5 things to know about MERS

About three to four out of every 10 people reported with MERS have died. But the people who died often had underlying medical conditions that made them more vulnerable.

The two patients who died in South Korea had chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and heavy asthma.

As of Wednesday, there have been 1,179 confirmed cases of MERS reported to WHO since 2012, and at least 442 cases were fatal. Cases have been reported in 25 countries, with China and South Korea joining the ranks only last month, WHO said.

MERS has been linked to camels and it’s possible that some people became infected after coming into contact with camels, but it’s not completely clear.

There are no vaccines and no cures. 3)

God’s Will

If we want to become the safety, we should keep the God’s commandment. We can be protected from the plagues when we follow God’s commands.

New Covenant is the one of God’s command which Jesus established and had keeping with disciples.

The Church of God Passover Assembly

The Passover is the day when Jesus Christ had the last supper with his disciple, and the World Mission Society Church of God is the only church that commemorates the day.4)

Those who kept the New Covenant or not to kept are a big difference in mind.

Then, What do you think about keeping the New Covenant to do not be afraid from the plagues in WMSCOG?
