Resurrection and God’s creatures

Let’s think about our resurrection through the things God made. In the Bible, there is an amazing promise of God that He will transform our weak flesh into a glorious body like the body of the resurrected Jesus.

Philippians 3:20-21 But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.

However, people do not easily believe this promise. So, God showed credible evidence of the resurrection in creation.

Romans 1:19–20 since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.

Through what did people say that they know God’s power and divinity? It is said that we can know through the things that God has made. In other words, if we look at God’s creations, we can know the power and divinity of God, the Creator. Then, wouldn’t the ability to transform our lowly body into a spiritual body also be known through God’s creations?
The apostle Paul used the seed as an example to explain the resurrection.

1 Corinthians 15:35–38 But someone will ask, “How are the dead raised? With what kind of body will they come?” How foolish! What you sow does not come to life unless it dies. When you sow, you do not plant the body that will be, but just a seed, perhaps of wheat or of something else. But God gives it a body as he has determined, and to each kind of seed he gives its own body.

What we sow in the field is a seed, but when the seed grows, does it not form a completely different form, such as a vegetable or a tree? Similarly, although we currently have a physical body, in resurrection we could have a completely different form.

Also, the Bible compares our lives on earth to worms and maggots (Job 25:5-6), but worms and maggots do not live in that form until the end. When the time comes, we will change into a completely different body from the now.

The reason why God placed these creatures around us is to make us realize God’s work of transforming our bodies according to the words of Romans.
Just as a worm on a vegetable changes into a beautiful butterfly and a caterpillar living in the water into a beautiful dragonfly, our lowly bodies will also change to be like Christ’s glorious body.

Therefore, we must walk the path of faith that accompanies God to the end, believing in the sure evidence that God has shown us through the creatures, believing in Heavenly Father and Heavenly Mother who grant us eternal life and glorious resurrection.
