Those Who Claim They Can See

Who are the spiritually blind and who can see? What kind of people can see God and receive blessings from God? The Book of Psalm testifies about the blessed people who can see God.

Psalm 69:32 The humble will see their God at work and be glad. Let all who seek God’s help be encouraged.

Those who can see God are the humble ones. 2000 years ago, when Jesus came down to this earth and preached the gospel, who recognized Jesus and received him? It was those who were lowly and humble of the time such as fishermen, tax-collector, prostitute, etc.. Those who had high self-esteem and were respected by others were the ones who rejected Jesus and ultimately instigated people to crucify Jesus.

They claimed that they could see. These were teachers of laws such as Pharisees, Sadducees, Scribers. They claimed that they knew God and the bible. However, when their God testified in the bible came to fulfill the prophecies of the bible, standing in front of them, they could not recognize him. Jesus was not the image of God they expected to see.

For this reason, those who claimed themselves to be blind could open their eyes and see God. But those who claimed to see could not see the divinity of Jesus hidden in the flesh. Consequently, they could not receive the blessings they had been waiting for.

John 9:39 Jesus said, “For judgment I have come into this world, so that the blind will see and those who see will become blind.” 40 Some Pharisees who were with him heard him say this and asked, “What? Are we blind too?” 41 Jesus said, “If you were blind, you would not be guilty of sin; but now that you claim you can see, your guilt remains.

The religious leaders of the time judged Jesus, who came for the judgment, with their own expectation. Out of their arrogance they judged that Jesus was a blasphemer who must be crucified according to the laws they kept. How blind they were! Since they did not realize their blindness and rejected the chance for them to be healed, they could not be forgiven of their sins. On the other hand, the humble ones of the time repented and received Jesus. As the result, they could receive the forgiveness of sins.

Just as the writer of Psalm says only the humble could see God. Today, Christ came again to give us salvation. Christ Ahnsahnghong and Heavenly Mother New Jerusalem came to give us the water of life. The water of life coming from them can heal us of all our sins and iniquities. Then what kind of a person should we be? Should we hold on to our expectation of God and reject them? Or should we receive them as our God? God teaches us to be humble and listen to the voice of God. Then we will be able to see the divinity hidden behind the flesh and we will know that they are our God through the fulfillment of the prophecies of the bible.

Isaiah 25:6 On this mountain the Lord Almighty will prepare a feast of rich food for all peoples, a banquet of aged wine—the best of meats and the finest of wines. 7 On this mountain he will destroy the shroud that enfolds all peoples, the sheet that covers all nations; he will swallow up death forever. The Sovereign Lord will wipe away the tears from all faces; he will remove his people’s disgrace from all the earth. The Lord has spoken. In that day they will say, “Surely this is our God; we trusted in him, and he saved us. This is the Lord, we trusted in him; let us rejoice and be glad in his salvation.”

When we humble ourselves and listen to the words of God, our eyes will open and say, “Surely this is our God.”
