Passover, the Sign of God’s Promise That Disasters Will Pass Over Us

God has promised salvation through the Passoverㅡa sign between Him and us. As Rahab and her family could be saved by putting a mark on her house, so God put a mark of salvation on our foreheads through the Passover.

Eze 9:4-6
[A]nd said to him, “Go throughout the city of Jerusalem and put a mark on the foreheads of those who grieve and lament over all the detestable things that are done in it.” As I listened, he said to the others, “Follow him through the city and kill, without showing pity or compassion. Slaughter the old men, the young men and women, the mothers and children, but do not touch anyone who has the mark. Begin at my sanctuary.” So they began with the old men who were in front of the temple.

God said, “Do not touch any who has the mark.” In other words, God will surely protect those with the mark. At the time of the Exodus, God urged the Israelites to celebrate the Passover so that the destroying angel would pass over them. Today, too, God has given us the Passoverㅡthe sign of His promise to protect us from disasters. on the Island of Patmos, the Apostle John saw the same vision that the prophet Ezekiel had seen.

Rev 7:1-3
After this I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back the four winds of the earth to prevent any wind from blowing on the land or on the sea or on any tree. Then I saw another angel coming up from the east, having the seal of the living God. He called out in a loud voice to the four angels who had been given power to harm the land and the sea: “Do not harm the land or the sea or the trees until we put a seal on the foreheads of the servants of our God.”

“After this” means after the events described in Revelation 6: “the stars in the sky fell to earth, as late figs drop from a fig tree when shaken by a strong wind.” Here, both the stars in the sky and the fig tree represent the nation of Israel, and the wind represents war. As late figs drop from a fig tree when shaken by a strong wind, six million Jews were killed by the Nazis as they suffered terribly in World War Ⅱ. Therefore, “after this” means after World War Ⅱ (Rev 6:12-17).
Then, What is the seal of God that will be put on the foreheads of God’s people “after this”? It is the Passover. God has promised the Passover as a sign of redemption since the time of the Exodus. God’s seal is put on the foreheads of His people so they can escape disasters. All who keep the Passover holy and dwell in the truth of the New Covenant are those who have received the seal of God. Just as Joshua ordered the whole army of Israel not to harm Rahab and her family, God has commended destroying angels not to bring any disaster on His people who keep the Passover, even on the day of the last degree disaster.
