Most churches insist that the cross is a symbol of the church, not an idol.
However, the Cross is merely an idol that God forbade anyone to make.
Ex20:4 “You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. You sahll not bow down to them or worship them.”
Therefore The cross is not an exception.
Making a cross itself is to disobey God’s commandment, “Do not make an idol.”
Then, what will happen to those who set up and depend on the cross?
Deuteronomy 27:15 “Cursed is the man who carves an image or casts an idol – a thingdetestable to the LORD, the work of the craftsman’s hands – and stes it up in secret.”
We must never set up or depend on the cross.

God told me not to idolize through the Ten Commandments.It’s the same with the cross.The cross is just one of the idols.
When looking at the ten commandments which God commanded God’s people to keep, we can find the second commandment of the ten ones which forbids worshiping idols.
Let’s think about the cross. You know what? We can’t worship God by making an idol in the form of anything. We never do that.
However, It’s sad that so many churches worship the cross instead of God. No matter what they worship the cross, it has no power to save us. In this age, Christ Ahnsahnghong and Heavenly Mother have taught us how to get the way to salvation through the Bible, not cross. I truly give thanks to Them.
Cross is an idol not a simbol of churches. Therefore, it should never be made or believed.
We must walk the upright path of faith in the will of God who forbade idolatry.
Although many churches have the cross and worship it, the Cross is merely an idol that God forbade anyone to make.
We must not worship the cross according to God’s commandments.
Serving the cross is a violation of the second of the Ten Commandments. That is why the Church of God does not erect a cross.
What was the cross used for in the time of Jesus? At that time, the cross was an execution tool. That’s why Jesus and many saints were sacrificed on the cross.
For this, let’s refer to a theological dictionary.
“The public use of the cross was adopted by the Christians as a symbol at the time of Constantine. For the early Christians, surrounded by crucifixion as a grim fact of common experience, there was no danger of beautifying the cross by sentiment.” (Baker’s Dictionary of Theology, p. 152)
At that time, the cross was a horrible execution tool.
The cross had not been used in the church for centuries after Jesus‟ ascension.
Making an idol made of materials like wood is to disobey God commandment that do not make an idol in the form of anything. Cross is made of wood or metal. And it is man-made. It has no power to save us. We are saved by shedding Jesus’ blood on the cross.
What’s clear is that in the Bible, crosses are not allowed to be worshipped.You shouldn’t worship all idols.
The Church of God rejects the images of the cross because it is an idol, and values Christ who sacrificed Himself on the cross and the meaning of His precious blood.
We need to think about the cross seriously.
The study we learn in a church may be different from the facts.
We need to discern what we worship in churches when we believe in God.
If not, we will not believe in God correctly.
