Christ’s Flesh and Blood Contained in the Passover

Concerning the blood of the Passover Lamb, which redeems us from the empty way of lifeㅡfrom sin and death, Jesus taught as follows:

Jn 6:53-57
Jesus said to them, “Very truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day. For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in them. . . . so the one who feeds on me will live because of me.”

Through the blood of Christ, not only disasters, but sin and death will flee from us as well. God has given us the truth of the New Covenant Passover so that His blood may remain in us.

Mt 26:17-19, 26-28
“‘. . . My appointed time is near. I am going to celebrate the Passover with my disciples at your house.’ ” So the disciples did as Jesus had directed them and prepared the Passover. . . . While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my body.” Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins

Lk 22:7-8, 19-20
. . . Jesus sent Peter and John, saying, “Go and make preparations for us to eat the Passover.” . . .And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.” In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.

The covenant established through God’s own blood is the Passover. Without the blood of the Passover Lamb, we can neither escape disasters nor defeat the devil. Christ, the reality of the Passover Lamb, gave us His flesh and blood through the Passover bread and wine. He promised that if we eat His flesh and drink His blood, we remain in Him and He in us.
Nevertheless, many churches today claim that the Passover does not need be celebrated. Are they right? No. Without the blood of the Passover Lamp, Satan can easily attack us at any moment. So, God said that anyone who does not celebrate the Passover must be cut off from His people.

Nu 9:10-13
“Tell the Israelites: ‘When any of you or your descendants are unclean because of a dead body or are away on a journey, they are still to celebrate the Lord’s Passover, but they are to do it on the fourteenth day of the second month at twilight. They are to eat the lamb, together with unleavened bread and bitter herbs. They must not leave any of it till morning or break any of its bones. When they celebrate the Passover, they must follow all the regulations. But if anyone who is ceremonially clean and not on a journey fails to celebrate the Passover, they must be cut off from their people for not presenting the Lord’s offering at the appointed time. They will bear the consequences of their sin.

Thoes who have been cut off from God’s people cannot escape the disasters. Furthermore, they will not be able to receive salvation and will instead be distined for hell. In the Old Testament times, God’s people escaped the plague by putting the blood of the Passover Lamb on the sides and tops of the doorframes of their houses, as commanded by God. In the New Testament, God allows His people to escape disasters and receive salvation through the flesh and blood of Jesusㅡthe Passover Lamb. This is why God has clearly said that without the Passover we cannot become His people, and that whoever does not keep the Passover will be cut off from His people.
